Bella+Canvas 3001

DTG (Direct-to-Garment)

DTG (Direct-to-Garment) printing is a digital inkjet process that prints directly onto a garment using water-based inks. No screens, no setup fees, viable at quantity 1. The dominant method used by Printful and Printify.

Screen Printing (Plastisol)

Screen printing with plastisol ink is the dominant bulk t-shirt print method. PVC-based inks sit on top of the fabric for exceptional durability (50+ wash cycles) and opacity. Requires a separate screen per colour, making it economical only above 25 units.

MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity)

MOQ is the minimum number of garments a printer will accept per order. Screen printers typically set MOQ at 12–50 units. Print-on-demand platforms like Printful and Printify have no MOQ — they print quantity 1.

Print-on-Demand (POD)

Print-on-demand (POD) is a no-inventory fulfilment model where a tee is only printed after a customer places an order. Platforms like Printful and Printify integrate with Etsy and Shopify to automate the print-and-ship workflow. No MOQ, no upfront stock cost.
