Gelato Review 2026: The International POD Platform Built for Non-US Sellers

Why Gelato exists (and why you might care)
Printful and Printify both fulfil primarily from US production facilities. For a US-based Etsy seller, this is fine. For a seller with significant European or Australian traffic, it means:
- Higher international shipping costs ($6–$14 per order vs $3–$5 domestic)
- 7–14 day delivery windows vs 3–5 days domestic
- Import duties that surprise customers at the door
Gelato’s answer: a network of 130+ print partners in 32 countries. An order from a UK customer ships from a UK print partner; an order from a German customer ships from a German print partner. Local production means local shipping cost and time.

On US orders the difference is marginal. On UK and Australian orders, Gelato saves $5–$12 per order — significant at scale.
Print quality reality
On my UK test order, Gelato’s UK print partner (Stanley/Stella blank, not Bella+Canvas — Gelato’s EU blank options differ from US) produced a clean print within 7% of Pantone reference. Not as tight as Printful’s 5%, but acceptable for most POD use-cases.
Blank selection is the weakness: Gelato’s Bella+Canvas 3001 availability varies by region. In the UK, you may be printing on Stanley/Stella or Continental Clothing equivalents rather than B+C. Know your blank before you launch.
