Custom Ink Review 2026: Great Service, Wrong Price for Half Its Buyers

The pricing reality
Custom Ink’s homepage emphasises the design lab, the free art review, and the group-order management tool. What it de-emphasises: their per-unit cost at typical volumes runs 30–40% higher than RushOrderTees for the same blank and method.
At 200 Bella+Canvas 3001 tees, 1-colour front:
- Custom Ink: $16.40/tee ($3,280 total)
- RushOrderTees: $13.40/tee ($2,680 total)
- Difference: $600 on a 200-tee order
That $600 is the price of Custom Ink’s customer support, their phone line, their design review process, and the fact that if something goes wrong, a human being answers the phone and fixes it. For a corporate event with a $10,000 total event budget, $600 is noise. For a charity 5K run with a $3,500 t-shirt budget, $600 is 17%.
What Custom Ink does better than anyone
The design lab is the best browser-based group-order tool in the market. You design in-browser, share a link, collect size data from participants, and manage the group checkout from one URL. RushOrderTees has a version of this; it’s clunkier. Custom Ink’s is smooth enough that even non-technical event organisers can run it solo.
Phone support is real. I called at 2pm on a Wednesday. 4-minute hold, then a knowledgeable rep who knew the product and could quote me within 5 minutes. RushOrderTees routes to email for most questions. The Custom Ink phone line is a genuine differentiator.
The 24-unit minimum is lower than many local screen shops (which want 50). This makes Custom Ink viable for small orders that screen shops won’t touch.

Who should not use Custom Ink
- Volunteers running a charity event on a shoestring: the premium is real and doesn’t evaporate at scale.
- POD sellers: Custom Ink doesn’t integrate with Etsy or Shopify. They print group orders and ship to one address.
- Buyers with under 24 tees: you’ll be forced to order extras you don’t need, paying for 24 when you wanted 12.
